Queen of the butterfly collectors

I feel completely stuck at the moment. Like that little butterfly in the jar. I wrote a post when I felt the same way a couple of months ago, but this was around New Year's Eve and everyone feels like that around then don't they?

This feeling hasn't really gone away and I want to do something proactive about it rather than just whinge about it month after month. The trouble is, I'm not really in a position to make any major changes in my life at the moment. Plus if I'm honest, I'm not even sure what exactly is causing this feeling of being trapped!
Probably best to sort that little riddle out before I go making any big changes.

Urgh. It could just be the weather that's making me feel all cooped up and restless. We've had months of it being cold, wet and dark here. That might work for Twilight characters, but I like to feel the sun on my face and spend more than ten minutes outside before losing all feeling in my toes.

I guess only time will tell really. And if it's not the weather?

Well me and my chickens could always run away with the circus.

My ears and heart have a new crush

Time for another music post I feel.

She has an album that I can listen to on a loop and her music has a definite Fleetwood Mac feel to it which just makes me love her all the more. This here (if you haven't already heard of her) is Lissie and here's a clip of her singing 'Everywhere I Go' with Ellie Goulding.

Introducing..the chickens!

Today I spent a lot of time outside building a chicken run and it was bitterly cold. The sort of cold that makes your fingers numb and your face sting. So you can imagine how happy I was when I went back inside to warm up, only to look out of the window and see the chickens on top of the shed roof and the garden fence.

And if you can't guess, the answer is not much.

So, this bosomy girl is Margot and she's the most curious of the bunch. She follows me around and insists on getting her face in the way of pretty much everything I try and do. She was also the first one to fly out of the pen. Cheers for that Marge.

This one here is Maureen and she's Margot's shadow. She doesn't seem to ever shut up and she also got of pen today..did I mention that I wasn't happy??

Which leaves my little Hen. She's on the bottom of the pecking order and is still a little shy, but I love her dearly because she was the only one who DIDN'T escape today.

So those are my girls and tomorrow, they are getting their wings clipped. Damned straight.

Granny Square Love

Stop whatever you're doing and stare in awe and wonderment at my crochet prowess!

Or at least, have a quick look and think something along the lines of "ooh, that's nice. Well done." That would be nice too.

I started this last winter which is why the colours are quite dark and berry-like. As this is the first time I attempted to crochet a blanket..or anything for that matter, it was pretty slow going. I became a lot neater and quicker towards the end, but it was frustrating to start with and I lost interest in it several times!

At the moment it's a very small blanket, more of a sofa throw really, but I intend to add more squares to it to make it bigger over time. It's one of those things that once you've got the swing of it, it's kind of hard to stop!

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am that I have finally finished what once was my never ending project!

Project Wednesday - update four (the time out)

Well this isn't really an update if I'm honest. I've been feeling a bit swamped lately so I've decided that for March at least, Project Wednesday will need to take a time out.

My three projects (here for those who are new to my blog), were slightly on the time consuming side and as I want to start thinking about relaunching my Etsy shop soon, I really need to focus on that for the next few weeks. Especially seeing as I've agreed to take part in a craft fair next month and I still haven't made any stock for it. Eeep!

That won't be good. Turning up, setting up a blank table, a big smile and and trying to sell air.

So no Project Wednesday updates for the next few weeks folks. Instead I hope to have more crafting posts instead. I'm looking forward to it already.

I hope you all have a lovely Wednesday everyone!
